just curious on anyones experiences giving up using patches?

It helps but you need to get off it quick or else you get hook on it. Still another nicotine medium which does not really help. Cold turkey is the only way to go eventually. There is no other way unfortunately.

I used the patches to quit after 53 years as a smoker. I'm on day 110 but I only used the patches for 49 days. I used the strong 24hour patches, but only wore them for about 14 hours a day, never at night due to nightmares.

yes it does depends on the person just know that the patches dont stop the cravings they are there only to ease them most of it is done by willpower as people say find a goal to why u want to quit and use that as motivation when u cant fight the urge i found the habit hardest so when u normally have a smoke switch to doing something else or if its with coffe switch where u have etc etc good luck on this journey and know we are all here to support u because we are all going through this

hi

am on patches didn't purchase them as already had them from the last time I forgot twice during the weekend and It didn't really bother me however during the work week felt a huge difference when I forgot them.I keep some in my wallet now.

My personal opinion is that they help and ease the craving for cigarettes. All the best on your journey

Patches did not work for me. I believe this is because they keep pumping nicotine into the blood thus maintaining the addiction. One day I found myself with my patch on AND sucking a lozenge AND dragging on a smoke! I got so depressed I ripped off the patch, spat out the lozenge, and lit up another! In the end I went cold turkey with help from Allen Carr's book Easy Way to Stop Smoking and also Joel Spitzer's website WhyQuit.com. Patches do work for some and the erotic dreams were interesting, but in the end my advice is QUIT JUST QUIT!

I used the patches in the beginning but had all sorts of problems with my skin and sleeping. I had 24 hr patches. I found if i used it for only 6hrs a day then took it off I had no problems. I also had an E - Cigarette which i found great. When i had an urge i would just have only 1 drag and my brain would think I had a cigarette. It just took the edge off. I also found the best way was to continue to do everything i always did. I am now up to 120 days not smoking and only used the E-Cigarette and patches for the first 6 weeks.
