Has been a tough day.  I didnt really get to say goodbye to the old ways.  The morning was particularly difficult.  I have usually had 3 cigarettes by the time I get to the office.  Today I had none!  I have made sure I have not replaced cigarettes with chewing gum or food.  I have read this is a bad idea.  I do not want to gain weight or be addicted to something else.  Lunch time was not bad.  I did not go into the smoking area and did not really fancy one after dinner.  Was feeling a little more positive.  This afternoon however has been horrid, smoking is all I can think about.  Tonight I have to go to the pub and am thinking maybe I'll be OK having one. I know this is not the case.  I must not crack on my first day even though the force is strong.

I am on smokefree day 28 after a pack a day for 40 years. One thing I can vouch for is that if you go cold turkey and do not smoke at all not even a puff for 4 or 5 days the nicotine DOES leave your body and those wall climbing cravings DO diminish. It WILL get easier so best wishes and tough it out and just don't smoke not even one.
