Is it just me or have other people quitting noticed that as the days tick by people around you seem to lose interest in your quit smoking plan. I am now starting week 4 and seem to want to talk about me not smoking and how I feel. I feel when talking to people it's like yeah your doing well and then change the subject. I don't know weather that's the devil in me thinking that way so I say bugger this can't I need more support I might as well just smoke again. I realise people proberly do get sick of hearing it but for some reason I can't stop thinking or talking about it

That's why this forum is so good. We're actually interested. You have to remember that anyone who hasn't smoked or given up smoking has no idea how difficult this is or how strong and proud we feel when we succeed.

Hey Jenso, I went back to work today after 2 weeks off because of the durries and what they have done to me and everyone asked what happened and when I told em , most of them went and had a smoke. I guess this is an individual journey and this forum allows similar travellers to encourage each other and swap tips.keep the faith dude and don't let that nico monster screw with your dtermination.

Hey puftout,
Was this your first 2 weeks since your quit day or further on down the track? I will try my best not to let that nico monster screw with me
does anyone know if nicobate products show up in your blood samples?
crazy as a...

Hi Rainbow,
I found its both. I think your right about smokers feeling threatened but I think they also get annoyed at me because I'm getting closer to achieving something they haven't. Non smokers are like yeah we'll you don't smoke anymore so it's not hard get over it and stop talking about it. What they don't realise is I think there are days as you go on that it's harder then when you first started. Thanks for the good luck wishes and right back at you with the good luck

a friend discussing quitting caused me to seriously think about it and in turn my quitting has caused a couple more to go down that path.
Don't feel less than those who smoke , let them know how proud you are and how much better you feel and how many extra $s you have saved. You never know someone else might take notice and follow suite.

4 in my workplace have attempted to, or have quit since me. Not sure if it's because I did or not. But it's a positive thing.

Sounds very positive, I keep thinking about how much I'm saving for my next overseas trip

Hi ya Jenso, you've done the right thing by quitting, just leave it at that and don't complicate things for yourself. Personally I found out(too late)that it was better to keep my thoughts to myself,to my wife and to those on this site. I went out full of bravado and shouted to the World my intentions to quit, then realised how hard it was. It put me under enormous pressure and hence I failed. I learnt a valuable lesson from that and now I know how to handle my next quit attempt. You are doing very well Jenso, so don't take it to heart when others seem not interested, it's not their problem is it?
