Sick of no sleep

Am really sick of having strange dreams, sweating and no sleep!! I have stopped taking champix at night. Can anyone tell me if this will help or is this a side affect of not smoking??? I'm thinking it is the champix but could be wrong..anyone know???

The no sleep thing for me is the hardest. It's one of the reasons that delayed me quitting! My doctor told me that insomnia is one of the most common side effects of quitting. Some people, it may last a few days, others like me - lasts weeks!! Don't know about the weird dreams though. I've never had champix. I would check with your doctor :)

Hi happygail it's day 155 for me smoke free done by cold turkey. Smoking disgusts me now the smell almost makes me gag i hate everything about the stinking addiction. Now here is the kicker despite this I still crave them everyday. The cravings stay forever but your resolve and willpower over time becomes stronger to the point where when a craving strikes it's gone immediately yet the satisfaction of beating it becomes more rewarding. I'm really stressed at the moment as I'm moving overseas in about 20 days for the next year or so and all I want to do is smoke. I won't however because it feels so good to be living life free from the nicotine addiction. stay focused you can do it buddy.

Hi Happygail. I'm having weird dreams and I using patches. I had a relatively easy time in my quit journey but have hit a wall at day 51.
I've been assured that this is normal, that it will pass and I'll get thru it!! Hope so being around smokers has never worried me before but today I was out and there was a young man smoking near me, I could have sooooo easily pushed him over and stolen his ciggie!! Isn't that horrible!!

i am 29 days smoke free and on day 35 of the champix...i stopped the evening tablet long time ago...i still have vivid dreams but not as much insomnia...no night sweats, but its cold so maybe that's why...at this point i have no craving at all and glad i didnt use nicotine patches or some other nicotine replacement...i have a mate hooked on the patches for five years...at least the champix is nicotine free...hang in there and i have no regret stopping the evening tablet...

I'm day 142 cold turkey and I wake up really early now. Like 2.45am this morning. I'm not sure if this is insomnia. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm so glad the gym I joined is open 24/7 though.

Happy girl ,this maybe something more than the pills .Funny thing happened to me was sleep apnea ,crazy dreams waking up and seeing crazy things in shadows ,sweating ,falling asleep behind the wheel ,falling asleep was more like a blackout literally a waking mess that was about to explode or at least kill myself ,unintentionally .People do not know that lack of sleep can be similar to saying not giving a plant water and watching it die.A sleep test result was scary 98 times an hour I would stopp breathing ,my brain was only receiving 68% of the oxygen it required ,I was going insane without trying. My thoughts to anyone having problems with sleep is go to a doctor and tell them ,a sleep test is simple to have either at home or in hospital overnight ,do not stuff around it is serious not having enough sleep .Now I wear a mask at night which is hooked up to a pump pushing pressured air into me ,my apnea is down to 10 -18 times a night(stop breathing)aznd I feel like 200% better no more falling asleep no more going insane .People like I say it is the worst thing not having a good night sleep your bodies need it .
Ask your GP for sleeping tablets. Common side effect of champix is insomnia. Champix worked for me and I took sleeping tabs after 2 weeks of no sleep! It's worth it. I'm now 158 days smoke free.
