I am now 15 days smoke free. I started smoking 34 years ago and was smoking around 40 + cigarettes a day. I lost my mum to lung cancer last year and recently I have noticed chest pains, restless legs , seeing mum take her last breath when trying to sleep at night and to top it off every time I turn on the television it's a funeral plan ad. I'm thinking something's telling me it's time to quit.I have attempted on several occasions to stop. I am using the patches this time. My withdrawals have been heavy duty and I'm finding my self snacking all the time to stop the urge to smoke. My scariest experience I have had in any of my attempts was last week on day 11. I had servere stomach cramps due to constipation and nausea. I vomited but nothing came from my stomach it was all from my chest. It was black brown mucus that would of filled over a cup. I have been fine since but my mind has been disturbed by the whole event. I am hoping that this will be enough to keep my mind strong and my body smoke free

My mate who has recently quit had the same experience! I think it is our body's natural defense flushing out all the waste & toxins! I believe it is lung recovery:)

Hi rainbow last time I attempted to quit I tried laser therapy and went 18 months smoke free. I remember having restless legs for around 4 weeks after quitting. I had truely forgotten how intense giving up smoking was. When I tried last time I had never seen a support site like this, so I'm hoping with this type of support and recently becoming a nanna that this is my time. Good luck on your quit plan and I hope to continually read of your success.
