Hi! This is my first entry on this site though I'veread lots of your stories and they have helped. I'm 64, have smoked for 42 years(at least a packet a day) and have quit before, though not for about ten years. Used Champix this time and have found it terrific. Didn't tell any one I was stopping because I didn't want to have to think about cigarettes every time some one asked me how I was going. My husband didn't notice for a week I had given up and was amazed, because before I have always been so cranky and uptight when giving up. I put on 3kg in the first mmore so far.onth but haven't put on any  My biggest problem is reaxing at night in front of the TV without a cigarette. I'm knitting at the moment but it is not nearly as relaxing! Any suggestions??

My coping strategy at night time was to just go to bed if I got cravings. Can't smoke in your sleep.

I have used the same tatic, I have not told anyone except this forum that I have quit. My wife has not even noticed yet but thats not surprising. Best way to relax at night is light exercise, exercise bike is great for this.

Thanks for your comments. I have tried going to bed but end up waking up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. I will try the bike though.
