hey all!

i set myself a quit date of 28th feb, leap year and all that, and did soo well for 15 days, i was on champix till day 8 but realised they were not for me as i started to have panic attacks... so went back to the doctor and got the patches.. but i didnt like them either... cold turkey it was...so on day 15 decided i would be the exception (silly me) and had a cig.. day 18 had another, and now 36 days later am back to smoking 2 -3 cigs a day (from 25 a day)... but am having trouble at night, after work (hospitality - eeuugghh)... any hints from fellow hosp workers that know what its like to finish a long shift late at night would be greatly appreciated! BTW so proud of all the people posting their stories!! you all give me hope:)

G'day Ess,

I'm an audio-visual techy and my shifts are all over the clock. I have trouble on the night shifts and with odd hours and working with lack of sleep etc.

I really sympathize and am just starting over myself after crumbling on a night shift the other night.

When I was going well though my best friends were cups of tea, this site and using the patches. Also keeping busy is essential.

Best of luck, don't let work get to you, and if you can keep to two or three ciggies, I'm sure you can cut them out.

I couldn't use the Champix, it made me sick. I've been on the patches now for 21 days and going good. Have you tried the Nicorette Inahler. I uses it in the early stage when I felt like a smoke!!
