100 Days as a non-smoker

Today is 100 days since I quit smoking. No slip ups, no nicotene replacement. Just cold turkey. Every day, even today requires willpower, resilience, determination, stubborness, distraction, all the same things required on day 1. Just not as often. I know all those things will be needed everyday probably for the rest of my life. I am the kind of person, like many here, who knows that if I slip up just once, it will be years before I have another go. So 100 days sounds like an achievement (and it is) but it is just the beginning of a very long journey full of temptation.
Good luck to everyone just starting out on their quit journey. And thanks to everyone on this site who has provided me with support and inspiration. And log on tomorrow for Gerry1's 100th day!! Go Gerry!

Way to go Mickey, you have hit the triple digits, that is so awesome. I feel like I was just reading your posts when you were starting out. Look how far you have come. You should be so proud. And now you are supporting people who are just starting out on their journey's and giving them all the great advice you have learnt from your experiences so far.
I am with you that this will be one very long journey full of temptation. I am now 166 days and still get the odd thought of wanting a smoke. I will never do it though as the thought of having to start over from day 1 is enough to remind me that 1 smoke will so not be worth it.
Make sure you do something really nice for yourself as a reward for making the 100 days. Well done:)

Well done Mickey. Yes it is 100 days for me also today. Are we allowed to feel a little proud of having reached this milestone ?
I agree Mickey. I don't want to start at day 1 again so will not entertain the thought of lighting up again .... ever.

good for you,Im glad to know the urge does get less after awhile, keep up the good work,my partner has now joined me in giving up,like you he went cold turkey.

Congratulations on your 100 days Gerry. Yes, of course we can feel proud for not smoking for 100 days. It's a milestone for sure. I'm just mindful of becoming complacent, and thinking that I have it beat. I think it's when we get cocky that we let our guard down and "the voice" sees its opportunity to strike. I know sooo many people who have quit for 6 months, 3 years etc and then crumble at a moment of weakness. So for me, it is cautious celebration on reaching 100 days.

Well done Mickey !
100 days is such a victory, No idea why.I guess its all the head and triple digits looks soo much better than single or double digits.. WHO KNOWS and who cares.
I hear what your saying about becoming complacent and cocky. I think we will be on guard for a long time yet.Anyway well done to You and all of us on this site.
Victory is Ours :)

Well done Mickey. I agree with your sentiments about being cautious totally. However your 100 days is something that should be celebrated and you should feel rightly proud of the will power you have exercised throughout your experience. Your above comments show your true strength and resolve. I remember you said to me at the start of my journey cold turkey means not even cranberry sauce is allowed these words have stuck with me and given me strength. Your right one puff will destroy all our hard work. Keep your guard up but feel rightly proud of what you have achieved mate. All the best freakboy.

congratulaion guys you have accomplished it well ,I am like 2 /3 days behind you and already gave myself a present new laptop . Ok the BMW is for the wife ,cough, cough ,really it is:)
