Encouragement is sometimes really annoying

I want to quit and I am encouraged by the people on this site. They really understand what it is like. My husband cheering me on will get on my goat. I shouldn't sound so ungrateful but he has never smoked and is so desperate for me to quit that he gets over-enthusiastic. I just want to do this "quietly". Oh... how to cope with that? :)

Yep, me too Angela. My wife has been the quit cheerleader for 14 yrs to no avail. When I actually decided to quit, it was not because of anyone else's encouragment. And I kept it from her for a couple of days so I didn't have the added scrutiny or pressure. You just need to tell your husband that you appreciate the thought, but it will be much easier for you if he doesn't talk about it, and just ignores that you're quitting. It's weird but I know exactly how you feel about that.

I didn't tell my husband for a week that I had stopped smoking and he didn't notice. I stopped on 10.3.12(4 weeks hurray!) after a pack aday for 40 years. I still haven't told my kids or most of my friends, because I don't want that over enthusiastic cheer squad that they would be.
I cant believe how easy it has been this time with Champix, because I have tried everyhting else and never lasted this long! Good luck Angela.
