2 Days Quit!! and I am very snappy and moody =(

I have tried to quit a few times, using patches and failed...wasn't sure why....I think it was as I was still having nicotine patches so didn't feel like I'd REALLY quit....and I still had a sneaky one and figured whats the difference with the patches?

After talking to a few mates who went cold turkey it seemed that most had quit without patches or gum and when they had tried them...they had failed.

So I am day 3 of cold turkey and although the cravings aren't as bad as I thought they would be....I go for a walk at the same time I would have a ciggerette and avoid the area we normally go to. I have turned into a super grouchy and snappy person with a very short temper. I feel like I'm going a bit mad and am possesed by some weird bi*ch demon. So am trying St. Johns Wort for the moods (works on PMS!) LOL am doing laps round the block when tempted

Also have a killer sore throat, and feel a bit breathless and keep taking big breaths...anyone else have a sore throat?

Wish me luck!

Good luck English Chick! Good to have you on board. You'll find a lot of moral support here. I'm cold turkey as well - 64 days. Didn't experience the sore throat, but can relate to the bad moods.

Hey englishchick. Day 80 for me tomorrow. I used champix (only 4 weeks worth) and read a book called Alan Carrs Easyway to stop smoking - it was great and helped me tremendously. I have been breathless, had colds, sore throat and generally been unwell on and off ever since I quit. Maybe we detox different to others - im so looking forward to feeling healthy again. At least my purse is a lot healthier! Stay strong and don't let the nicotine monsters get you down. Every time you say no, it's one in the eye to the nicotine monster!

Forgot to mention that I've been moody too. Better moody than smoking. I think we feel we are being deprived when in fact it's the exact opposite. Will just take a little getting used to. Cheers x
