partner and i quit..... what about when it doesnt work?

my partner suggested quitting in november.... and now im day4.... he is smoking again, this is hard.. i am so emotional, he keeps offering me to smoke.... argh i will get thru the next hour. then work on the next

I wish that he wouldnt offer you a smoke jelaina!! That would make it very hard! He should be more supportive! Im not saying he's a bad guy!! When I tried to quit before, my partner (who is a non smoker, never has been & HATES it) would make pretend smoking gestures & say "Id bet youd love to have a smoke right now" This time, I said, DONT YOU DARE DO IT!! We need supportive people around us!! I hope you got through that hour!! YOU CAN DO IT

Thanks Jodie, (also im Jodie 2) i stuck it out! and went and bought him white ox LOL he has to smoke on the fence line and i asked him not to offer me anymore, and if i ask... make me beg lol...i am going to do it! he is giving me incentive... to do better then he did :) i even survived 4 phone calls to telstra!!!

Often smokers don't like it when other smokers try and give up, they know it's something they are going to have to face themselves but aren't ready to do so. I work with a girl who is a smoker and is laughing at and doubting me that I'm going to be able to stick to it (I'm on day 8) but I think it's because she's jealous. She wants to be ready herself but isn't... It's hard!

thanks guys, and yes i do believe he is very jealous, he's getting very snappy... im sure im a lil too BUT shouldnt he be happy out puffing away? thats HIS choice! i think today has been the worst cravings.... but tomorrow im sure will be better! :) even giving myself a hard time with a bourbon :s

well all i can say is stick with it, it's going to be hard but it will be worth it in the end.

Someone posted in another place (apologies for not giving proper credit I have read so many this week) to make a list of all your non-smoking friends. I think they may really help especially when at home you feel like you are the only person in the world not having one. And, good on you! You're being very strong in the face of some tough competition!
