Going back to work !

Hi .. I am on my 5 th day as a non smoker. It's been ok so far. Done a lot of exercise and am coping well . I return to work tomorrow after 2 weeks leave . I'm dredding it. Work is a major trigger for me .. To stressful and easy to smoke there

Hi there,

I quit in 2 days so i'm not an expert, What I am going to try and do is bring a puzzle book to work like sudoku and then every time I want one, I am going to try and focus on the puzzle. Here's hoping it works.

Hi I too am in the early days, today is day 7 as a non-smoker so like JEE am not an expert either, but I have been taking fruit to work and have been drinking water when I get a craving. The trick is to change all your habits and not to feel pressured into going to places where you associate having a smoke. Good luck & keep going.

Day 2 for me, I reckon u should at least go out to where the smokers are just for a minute, It makes you feel good when u see how pathetic they look all standing around a dirty ashtray....Good luck, it will be the hardest part, just take one step at a time....

Well done onesmartelf, tomorrow you'll be 6 days, don't give in. Chew gum, drink water suck on lollies, do whatever it takes. You have done so well. Don't let the stress of work send you back. Will be looking forward to hearing how you went. Good luck :)

only day 5 for me but i have been trying to change my way of dealing with stress .you dont see nonsmokers reach for a ciggie when stressed!so if it gets bad i try and do something good for myself like have a juice or smelly hand cream is good because it triggers another sense and you wring your hands with benefits haha if you surroung yourself with good smells its amazing how stinky the smell of ciggies is .i have attempted a few times in the last year and stress and alcohol have been my undoing so i am trying to reprogram my mind to deal with stress . as a single mum of a terminal 11yr old i get a lot of stress and watch my boy tring to breathe through no fault of his own ,he has cystic fibrosis and will need a double lung transplant he is my inspiration you can think of him if it helps you we go to the childrens respiratory clinic in hospital for 5 weeks ata time so lets kick these stupid cigarettes out of our lives and just breathe!!

And keep telling yourself Onesmartelf "can't go back now, got this far" and you get further and further down the road and you "can't go back now"
