They actually say that giving up cigarettes is one of the most difficult addictions to give up. Because it has SUCH a strong habitual association for us. I can absolutely promise you that it gets better, I have given up a few times before (once for 2 years) and within a few months I was hardly even thinking about smoking. The problem is that you forget how difficult it was to give up, so when offered with the temptation 2 years later you don't see the harm in just having the one. You think you are far beyond it. I'm on Day 8 now and it's already getting easier. I reckon that the key is making sure that you never ever think 'just the one' ever again once you have committed to giving up. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.

Thank you Jelaina and Julia! Am so glad, feels very insurmountable at times!! That is good advice Julia, I must remind myself I can never smoke again, but that is a good thing..... And good thinking Jelaina, I can remind myself I got through the bday :-)
