Heroism... some times it's just hard work!

Yep you've guessed it.... another of those 'survival stories'

So, yesterday, I get home from work with that 'gimme a drink of ANYTHING alcoholic' feeling, provided of course that it doesn't mean leaving the house, not because I didn't want to leave the house (liar) it's because of some hazard or danger or something lurking outside, in my fetid little imagination, but definitely not laziness, no siree Bob (again...... Liar).

Anyway, it turns out that it's Michael's (inconsequential boring person who works with my wife) 'leaving Do' so we 'have to go'........ yay I feel like I've won lotto (not), so off we go to the crappiest pub in town, wipe your feet on the way out! and I sit there for FOUR, count 'em, FOUR hours having smoke blown in my face and not once did I get the urge to smoke, people kept saying 'are you ok there now you're not smoking, with us all smoking and blowing smoke at you', very clamly each time I'd say, yeah I'm fine thanks and I can honestly say it didn't bother me, I did expect to get the urge to smoke so I was slightly on my guard, but it really is about not wanting to smoke, it would be easy to find a million reasons to have 'just the one' but what's the point, that would show absolutely no commitment at all and would be the road to ruin. I know that we can all kick this stinky habit and trust me nobody is more optimistically challenged than I am.

Stand strong, stand proud....... and any other inspirational quotes you can think of..... no points for singing 'We shall over come'! Have a good one.

Meanie - that is awesome. No urge that is fanbloodytastic. And you are EXACTLY right, it would be asy to have just one, but what would be the point. Who would want to quit again and start at day 1????

It is hard work, but worth it. Mind you I was a bit horrfied this morning whilst running (remember phase 2) and caught man boobs in the relflection, YIKES. Thank goodness I will be swimming tomorrow to start to deal with those.
