16 DAYS YEAH

It's now been 16 day's although my personal journey says 15 which is annoying and i can't change it as it thinks i'm re starting. I'm still finding it a bit boring not knowing what to do at times. Sitting around is annoying and frustrating,,usually when i think i'll pop out to have a smoke and pass the time i'm like oh what do you do when you are just waiting.
I'm also upset i've put on 2 kilo's. I thought i was being carefull about not overeating but maybe not enough. I'll tackle the weight after i'm sure i have this non smoking life under control/

Hi Kathyrose, i know how you feel about the extra day, i'm the same 60 days.
If i can suggest with the weight gain and not to put any added pressure but i have seen the side effects of gaining weight whilst non smoking.
Try to accommodate some form of exercise while counting the days to freedom... it actually really helps in many ways.
all the best

Thanks Rocky rush. I have been going for a walk after dinner but it's really only a stroll to keep my mind of the after dinner smoko.. I actually hate excercise but last month did a 14kl funrun,,mind you i limped most of the way with blisters lol. I'll try and do a bit more walking.

Get yourself a Wii Kathyrose, it's helped to take my mind off smoking and it keeps you active........... added bonus Wii sports has boxing, so you can bash people till your hearts content without actually hurting anyone.

Thanks Meanie i love your suggestion. My boy's have a Wii so i'll look into it. It's just that yesterday and today i had to sit at a hospital with my husband for hours on end as he is recieving IV antibiotics. Usually i would go out every half an hour to have a smoke and ring a friend. So cause i didn't do that i found it boring and i was getting irritable and my husband said i was embarrassing as i was telling the nurse we didn't have all day. It was supposed to take one hour but after 2 he still hadn't had the drip. Thats my rant for today i'll be back tomorrow

Where would we be without 'the rant', I reckon it's an essential part of the giving up smoking kit, mine's had plenty of use this week....... I'm sure there must be someone locally that I haven't wanted to slap with a fish at some point!
Keep on ranting if it keeps you off the smokes.
Hi Kathyrose, I too found myself eating way too much, espesially in the early days when I was at the hospital with dad just sitting. Then post that at work, I found I was snacking instead of going outside for a smoke. My solution aside from exercise (not a huge fan either) was to limit snacks to green apples. After a couple of them you really don't want anymore. I am keeping old Granny Smith in business.
