Wow, that is what I want to say to you fellow non smokers and your experiences and the fact that some of you are double days smoke free than me, some are a few days less some are way more etc.

Just knowing that other people are experiencing the same frustration, annoyances, struggles, and weirdy joy for hanging in there is so helpful to me.

Today has been a really hard day for some reason.  I wonder now that if medical danger is over for my dad (good) and that family are all now in their own homes and my life is returning to normal that the craving is back with a vengance?

Anyway, I will still read Jo's stories and Blu Suzi and Fire God and Tiger 74 all the rest just to make sure you all succeed and keep inspiring me, so that I can join you as a non smoker.  Who would have thought it would be so difficult?  Guess if it was easy everyone would do it!

Have a FUNNY story to share from this morning.

Got bus to work, realised only had one ride left on travel 10 so went to the newsagent under my building to the little Asian lady that has served me for months and months.  I said good morning as did she.

I asjed for a my bus travel 10 and then stood day dreaming as normal.  She said to me, here you go and had got my bus ticket and a packet of smokes (she remembered my brand bless) and I screamed so loud (not meaning too) - NO NO NO, NO SMOKES I STOPPED I STOPPED DAY 11!

Well the poor thing jumped about 4 foot in the air at my outburst and was shaking saying I am sorry (solly).  i started to laugh and gave her a hug and said that is ok - I did not mean t oscare you.  She was then saying,  This is very (vely) good you stop smoking keep going mister!

I must say I went to work with a smile on my face - just knowing that the lady that has sold me smokes for months told me it was very good I had stopped.  I think I might give her a bunch of flowers tomorrow.

And virtual flowers to you all for helping me stay on my stay off them path.  Tomorrow is day 12 and whilst I am nowhere near there, I feel so much better then I think my first post here (called ARGH) which I think was at day 4 and then day 6 and 10.

Oh dear, two posts in two days day 10 and 11.  Oh, well wanted you all to know how much you are helping.

Cheers

Love the stories. Keep them coming. Great to hear you're going well. I agree with tiger74, you've been going through some major stuff and still you've made it through. Inspirational.

OMG! You so have to buy that poor lady some flowers there she thought she was giving you awesome customer service but no you shouted at her.... That has brought a smile to my face but good work you!!!

Keep up the good work, just refrain from shouting at your asian store otherwise you'll be finding a new place to buy your bus passes.

I am chuckling. My local newsagent/cafe is also wondering when I will start buying smokes again. I have told her that she has lost that side of my business, only my magazine and morning coffee, it strengthens my resolve to think I wont give her the satisfaction of buying another pack of cigs, anywhere!

Jokes...

“You know you don’t actually smoke. The cigarette does all the smoking, you are just the sucker at the end!”

How can you tell if a redneck is married? There is tobacco spit stains on both sides of his pickup truck.

What’s the best way to stop someone from smoking in bed?

Get a waterbed, and fill it with gasoline.

Well done Winner, keep it up :) funny, I went to woolies the other day to get some cash out from the customer service desk - it wasn't until I walked away that I realised how close I was to all those smokes and didn't even think of buying a pack! Kind of refreshing :)
