Ok Here we go!

I'm new here today, I'm setting out to quit after being a smoker for 30years, I've set my quit date for next Wednesday, but I just decided to stop smoking early (last night), it's now Saturday night and I've cleared the first 24 hours without killing anyone or anything.
I don't really have anything else to offer at present, but it's been good to read the stories of other people who know exactly where I am right now............ fingers crossed that this time tomorrow I'll still be going in the right direction...........watch this space!

Good luck Meanie.. I found this site really good for support when I first quit. Even just updating everyone with how you're going can take the edge off wanting one! This first month is going to suck, so strap yourself in for the ride - see you on the other side (the healthy side)!!

How are you going? you have done so well to quit before your date so I have no doubt that you will beat this habit and choose a healthy life!! Keep the strength going!!

I made it to the third day and still going strong, had some reservations about work as it can be pretty stressful but I came out the other end, I've been around a couple of smokers on and off for the last day or so and haven't been tempted as yet. I don't get it I'm not a person who usually has this kind of conviction but I genuinely feel like I don't want to smoke.... hope I can keep that up, I'm sure someone will remind me of this when I decide I want to kill something!
