Hi. I have never participated in anything like this before so I'm a bit nervous. I am 51 years old, married with 4 children. The youngest is 18. After 30 years of smoking I am on Day 4 smoke free. I am taking Champix. They make me feel sick especially after the tablet in the morning. Has anyone else experienced this and if so will it continue until I finish the course? I have a 5oth birthday party to go to on 12 Feb. and I'm a bit worried because there will be a lot of smokers there. Does anyone have any tips so that I can get through the night without slipping up?
hey, i am on champix myself and not had any issues but i know a few people that have and they said as long as u eat half hour before hand they were fine but with some people it doesnt go away i guess i was a lucky one, goodluck
Maree, is the 50th indoors or outdoors? If they all have to go outside to smoke, then you should be okay. If not, Grab a soft drink and sip that until the urge passes, or take a few deep breaths :) It really does work, and it is how I managed to get through a recent day outing where everyone around me was smoking.
