Quitting while travelling

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 8 Dec 2010

Today, I quit smoking. I am not the type to prepare for extended periods of time, as I find that gives me a chance to "mentaly talk myself out of it."

I will be drawing on my "lessons" (previous attempts) in the hope that this time, it's for good. One thing that I will be using and employing, is what I learnt when I quit smoking last time. I quit for just under 4 months. I went cold turkey from the moment I stepped onto a plane oversea's. All my habits (eating, sleeping, language, EVERYTHING) was getting shaken up, so why not kick ciggies too?

I thought of myself as an ex-smoker, I had great support from a friend who I travelled with and I managed to get through the cravings. I have never felt so fit, healthy, alive, vibrant, I even felt like I looked better.

Fingers crossed I make it through day one. And good luck to everyone else.
