QUITTING SMOKING IS SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD

QUITTING SMOKING IS SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD compared to dieting. Both take determination and positive thinking but dieting is always ongoing whereas quitting smoking is simply just done.

I caution dieters to not go below the 1200 calories as that is our basic metabolic rate for most of us. I prided myself for putting nutrition and exercise first but was appalled at how recklessly some ate. Dieted and ate JUNK when the calories eaten were most important. I decided in January to demonstrate a good diet . I showed my diet calendar of 1200 calorie of nutritious eating. I also decided,,REGRETFULLY TO do double the exercise.

The stress was too much for my body, a diffence of sometimes 1000 calories.....which slowed my metabolism. Counter productive as I only lost 2.2 lbs instead of 7. How disappointing is that?

I guess we all learn through mistake, and avoid mistakes by things learned.

I hope any dieters will take heed and learn to ease their bodies into the situation. My metaboliam slowed down to save me. It thought it was starving. Now I doing reverse and adding a little more calories to assure my body it is not starving, and to not just store extra as fat, That is why so many only gain the pounds back.

Chia seeds also sent my blood pressure plummeting one night I had forgotten that the interaction with blood pressure meds was not good, as I was not on meds at that earlier date.

I just wanted to warn other dieters on my weight loss site and especially my freinds here.

I did manage to lose another 6 lbs. since Christmas. and losing even now eating 11800 calories and trying to reach the max and reset my metabolism. I also walk my 10000 steps and do cardio 30 minutes every day. I miss when I don't. Me, who hated excise. I would ever do more but am now hesitant. Change of attitude and positive thinking will will out in the end.

Hello my darling Happiness, I was so worried about you when you didnt respond to a few posts. I knew you were on a diet and have started one myself. It is the low carb keto diet, I follow most things, but still have moments when I have a slice of bread, but no cake. I have lost inches, but not much weight, and I only count the carbs and protien not the calories,

I have always eaten nutriious meals, so that was easy, but since I have lost only 3kg, it is not yet coming off me as I would like. This has been difficult in the fact it is not cutting out something forever, like smoking. But I am continuing on until I loose another 3kgs. My learning curve is yet to come, I guess because I feel like I cannot keep up the amount of food that is suggested, it is too much for me.

I exercise as always so nothing much has changed there. I have had my first injection and will hopefully be flying up to queensland to see my Grandchildren fingers crossed for the Airlines.

Happiness, what is your formula for your tonic, that is comprised of turmeric and ginger? Thanks

schedule 12 Apr 2021

Hi Steve. I tried to find it and no deal. The one I tried was to boil 400 grams of onion, I peeled mine, and simmer for an hour. Strain and added a tablespoon or so each of Ginger and Turmeric powder and some black pepper to activate the curcumin in the turmeric. I took an ounce morning and night with a Tbs of honey as a chaser. Yuck! I think I was supposed to add the honey, but did not want to waste it. I recall it lasted me about 8 days before I made another batch (last). Good for you. I don't know if it made a difference, but it may have reduced my need to smoke. Just ginger and turmeric with a dash of pepper in warm milk is actually enjoyable these days when I think of it.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to post and let us know if we can be of further help.
