Keeping Motivated.

So what happens when your motivation goes? That is one thing, but how does it go? Does it dry up? Burn out? Does it wash away or the ideation go stale?
How can we get it back and get back on track?
How do you stay motivated?
What institutes a successful Quit?
Lets brain-storm and get heaps of comments.

Hi PuffNoMore, Yes motivation is crucial in maintaining our quit promise.
1. We need to keep the date of the quit current in our mind, or written down
2. we need to continue repeating our own Mantra eg I will never smoke again, or NOPE (Not one smoke ever)
3. we need to continue on reading and learning
4. We need to come onto this forum daily, for reading or commenting
5. We need to keep our self esteem and our self belief written down to remind us of how awesome we are.

I could no longer sustain $31 everyday. And cutting down only tormented.
I too hated myself for being held prisoner smoking and a slave to buying them. After 87 days, a saving of $2,317.00 and no longer worry of running out, does help me stay motivated to stay Quit.

I am a non-smoker and very happy to be one. I don't feel the need to be motivated now that the goal is accomplished. The hard work is done and now I just get to reap the rewards. There is nothing worth going back to smoking for. Coming here every day or once in a while is a reminder of the dark days, and an opportunity to help someone else in their escape to freedom. I am free. I intend to stay that way.

Its so important to think that way. Once the Final decision is made to never smoke another, (not one puff of one), To this point my goal is accomplished
I Dont smoke. Period.
Any doubts over my needing some validation or assistance or other members comments are welcome. But, I know what not to do.
I'm coming back to report my 100 day achievement of not smoking.
I am free at this moment (atm)
Surely I can remain free of it forever.
I am letting anxiety, worries, and general frustrations suggest another excuse. (dont get it confused with withdrawal) But will not submit.
I'm hoping this helps anyone free of smokes from between 3 days to three months. Its not always easy but can be done happily.
Lets all become a happy non-smoker.
