schedule 19 Dec 2019

Today marks day 98 of quitting smoking after smoking for around 15 years. I used champix to quit and my last cigarette was on the 10th of September 2019. I feel much better; more energy, better breath, no smell and was disgusted from smell of other people smoking around me.

i had an extremely stressful day today and several problem and unfortunately i smoked one cigarette which made me dizzy and caused me nausea. i always read that even one puff will make u addicted again. i regret that i smoked and dont want to go back. will stay off any other cigarette and say no to any puff.

any advice ? hints? i will just forget that i smoked and wont stop counting. will count 100 days on friday.

Hi Trying09,

Forget about the one time cigarette. Keep going like it never happened. Some people can’t give up after just one puff whereas others keep going like it never happened. Hopefully you are in the second group. Good luck and don’t beat yourself up over one slip.

Never throw in the towel for a slip up. We are human and prone to making mistakes and soon regretting them. We hope that no one slips up and jeopardizes their quits and we really just need to remember one thing to enjoy our smoke-free status. Not One Puff Ever.

Too many think that they can get away and enjoy one cigarette here and there without harm. Hubby did that before. He had quit a few years back for a couple or more years. They passed cigars around after hockey, and he accepted once. He began to look forward to that one night a week. Then he felt he should return the favour and buy some. Well that was game over. He continued to smoke for many more years until i quit and he followed suit.

It was a mistake Trying 09, don't beat yourself up over it. Pick yourself up and continue on, but don't repeat the mistake.

Pre-Congratulations on being 100 days quit very soon. Someone told me that other sites start you over at day 1. I personally think you have every right to be proud of what you have accomplished so far. Perhaps you should make sure you have a list of why you quit smoking, and what you have gained and will lose again if you lose your way. Copy this and send yourself an e-mail to remind you of what you felt like and how sorry you are.

We learn from mistakes. We are not to repeat them.

The other thing to stay strong and committed is to spend time on a regular basis on this forum. Give others support as we have given you. It makes everyone feel good and keeps all accountable to their best interests.

schedule 20 Dec 2019

Like everyone else has said before me, never give up on giving up. I was on Champix too and the 3 month mark was quite difficult for me, the craving will come back when you least expect it, which also happened to me. This time I had the help of others on this forum. I think you should continue to count up where you left off minus (1) It doesn't make it alright but you might need confidence to keep on going which you should be doing. The thing that bothers me is, what have you done with the rest of the packet? or did someone give you one?...."NOPE" not one puff ever.

Hi Trying09. I trust things are back on track and things are getting easier day by day. Keep on reading and learning and grasp that mindset. You can do this!

Hi, I've just started champix. I'm on day 5. I'm just wondering how many hours apart do you take your second tablet? I'm finding it difficult to sleep because I'm taking it at bedtime and I'm also feeling nauseous.

I'm worried because I haven't gone on to the stronger tablet yet and if I feel like crap now... it can only get worse.

I would be grateful for any help

Hi Siobhan, I use to take the morning tablet around 9 and the evening tablet around 7. I had some dreams and difficulties to sleep but it is worth. all side effects will reduce soon. Stay Strong
