Hi everyone. I may be the last person to give you tips, but I know a lot about how the mind works and how you can rewire your brain anytime. Your mind is constantly expanding, so the more often we think about something, the more we crave,... For example, you meet a girl and you think about her for a bit, then you see her again and the more you think about her the lesser chance there is of you getting rid of thinking about her. The same goes with depression, smoking, work, stress and so on. My advice is, have a pleasant distraction. Instead of thinking about sneaking out to smoke, think about a vacation your saving up for, think about anything that gives you joy. This advice isn't just for smoking, you can use this for any situation. If someone offers you a cig, say no, if you start thinking of having one, start thinking about something else, get that thought out of your head and eventually you will crave less and less until you will be successfully a non smoker. If you stop smoking and get into a stressful situation, don't think about smoking, deal with the situation with a calm mind and you will be fine. I tried to put this in a shortest version possible.

This is true , i read an article .. they compared the thought roots of the brain to branches of a tree , if you dont water the tree , the branches eventually die and fall off .. the tree is the brain of course and the water is thinking about something ..its true for anything that you dont want to be reminded about
