just a question...i'm on Day 16 of my quit journey cold turkey and i have experienced nausea on & off most part of the day this week...early days was there and then disappeared. I've tried quitting before and don't recall the nausea coming and going like this. Has anyone experienced the same?

Thanks in advance & best of luck for your continued journeys

Hi there, I am on champix, day 30, and am supposed to feel a bit of nausea when taking it, I do. But I also feel a bit on and off most days which is reducing. I also used the Allen Carr App (the east way to stop smoking) and he describes the feeling of wanting to smoke as an empty, insecure feeling. Maybe this is what you are experiencing? I have just gone with it, had a big drink of water, and moved past it. Smoking use to make me feel thirsty and I now have to consciously drink more water. Hopefully this is all it is and you have no other underlying health problems. Good Luck fellow mid north coaster :)

Heartfelt thanks fellow Northcoaster Jakkie and Red-67 for your ur support. Apologies for the delay in replying...have just felt really off and out of sorts these past few days....have tried to keep busy, eat well and added cycling in the mornings to get thru this journey and to curb the kilos too!

Ur comments have been so helpful...quitting whichever way i'm sure takes it out of alot of peeps out there... boy o boy i must say this journey is not fun at the moment...i'm also guzzling lots of water to help flush out toxins... i'm hoping Red-67 that by a month i'll be feeling better. Damn those chemical filled addictive sticks that controlled my life!!! I have taken the control back into my life--determined to be the last time!

Best of luck for your journeys 😜

Has anyone else had nausea within the first couple weeks? I've just noticed the last week after 2 and a half weeks of cutting down and having a few smoke free days and mostly no smokes for the last week or few days or so (its hard to tell the exact times for me because of my Dissociative Identity Disorder) because I've been feeling really sick for the last few days that I know I haven't had any smokes and it feels like I want to vomit constantly at the moment, which makes eating and even sleeping very difficult, although sleeping has been difficult enough without the nausea...

I have been using patches as well during the day, since I can't use the Champix without severe nastiness and hallucinations happening and nothing else seems to work but, should I be feeling this nauseous this early on...? I WANT to quit! And have tried a few times before and succeeded for about a year or so both times, (my 4th attempt, as I know Champix causes nausea but after I tried it the first time I found out I couldn't use it) but I have never had this nausea before not using them... I've tried drinking water, milk, tea and everything else I can think of and even tried eating everything I could think of as well to see if anything helped but so far nothing does... I'm tryna tough this out but, although I have a severely high pain threshold, I have a crap tolerance for feeling sick and I'm not quite sure what to do about it...

have you ever tried slippery elm or miso? The slippery elm can come in tablet or powdered form from a health food shop or some supermarkets and miso can be found as little packets of instant schmoo or instant soup sachets that you just add hot water to and stir well...might have to ask for it at a supermarket. Can taste a bit weird if you're not used to it but is nice and salty. Just a suggestion...good luck!
