Kill the craving

Day 140 and going well. Most of my days I don't think of smoking but every now and then it invades my mind. Such delicious and seductive thoughts it plants there, scenarios, little day dreams but I kill that thought like it's a weed and on I go with life. It's a tricky and devious drug that nicotine but when you're in a situation like this try and see it for what it is. Take a step back and see that this is just a craving, the drug fighting for you to take it back up. You're not going to die saying no. Fight off the craving, it's so worth it and it feels good to be in control and to win..

Hi Cranky , you are so right in what you have said. I been quit 5 mths now after 52 yrs smoking and when i get the odd urge now i say to myself " you want to breathe natural or with a mask" ........so you know what i choose and the blo***y urge soon p*****s off. We all need to be firm on quitting or else it's a waste of time. Cheers.

Hi Cranky76. Never ceases to amaze me when I read clever ways to respond to cravings. Even though we know better than to succumb to cravings it is always good to see it from someone else's perspective. Your posts always amuse me and help keep me believing in what I have been doing for over 560 something days. Appreciate the time you take to post.

Hi all needed a lift this morning and I'm never let down on this site.
Thank you one and all, and Cranky 140 days way to go 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Hi cranky I sat out the back the other day and I was like god I'd love a cigarette came from nowhere but at over 200 days I'm not going there. Before then I hadn't even thought about a cig for so long strange drug

Oh Cranky, you are so right. The cravings and coping.. your story was just what I needed yesterday evening...

Well done Crankey. Keep it up. Eventually those thoughts do lose their potency and frequency.
