Hello friends, as you all know or will eventually know the first weeks of quitting is difficult. I am 92 days now and can say that i am in a little comfort zone. What i have done when a huge urge hits especially when i am home is to go and gargle some mouthwash for 20 seconds. Then rinse out with luke warm water. "Yuk" the urge will disappear you won't feel like smoking. Also, sometimes i look closely to non smoking friends of mine and think how they go about their routines while i am in situations with them, how they act, talk and react to situations without naturally the thought of cigarettes on their mind. May sound weird, but believe me, if one is serious about quitting every avenue should be looked at. We all need to learn new behaviours for boredom or stress without the imp between our fingers. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I've just gone 3 weeks . , had my last cigarette on my 63rd birthday , , I'm not strong enough to go cold turkey , I do puff on a nicorette inhaler which takes the edge away and drink lots of water , , I think I will give he mouthwash a go yhouhgh , that seems like a great idea 😊😊❤️❤️Doing it hard today

Hi Johnnie. Congratulations on 92 days!! And thanks for the mouthwash tip! I'll keep that one up my sleeve! From my last quit, 25 years ago, I kept a very gross tip of keeping a container in which I had emptied ashtrays, and if an urge grew too strong, I'd pop the lid and take a deep breath- Yuk!

I am only 13 days in but am now starting to get really grumpy.....partially thanks to hours on the phone with Telstra, and also cause Ive been crook all week with a chest infection.... dang!! I thought I was supposed to feel better almost straight away! ☺ Could almost stamp my foot! lol
