Life after 125 days without nicotene

So I woke up this morning at 6.am which is totally out of character for me as a smoker but now its becoming common. In fact, since I stopped all nicotine products /smoking I've been waking up early almost every day. I've also been sleeping better. I've not researched it but I'm sure that nicotine screws up sleep. I know from my own body that there is at least an indirect link if its not directly affecting me. Nicotine screws up everything! You only have to stop taking it for long enough to realise this.

Do I crave nicotine or cigarettes at this moment? I certainly crave something but its not cigarettes. I think that this feeling can be used to drive me on to better and nobler things. I just took a vitamin B pill, a garlic pill and now I'm drinking ginger. I don't know which is one is good for me this morning so why not take them all..haha! Oh, I just got back from my 1/2 hour brisk walk. Now I've disciplined myself to rub under my armpits and self massage my neck and shoulders by rolling on an inclined piece of wood. I think I'm in a different realm from smoking 40 cigarettes a day just over 4 months ago. I am also going through a crisis and am handling it without having to dance with the nicodemon.

I am grateful to God and to you all. Keeping you all in my prayers.

I am on day 38 and in the last week I can not sleep at night, I go to bed and 6 hours later still trying to get some sleep. When I smoked I slept 11 to 12 hours a night no problem. Now it's NO SLEEP until I pass out. :(

yeah its "normal" body is going through huge changes learning how to function without nicotine, my blood pressure has gone up sense stopping and so its not all fun , but it is better than the other option of continuing to smoke to the bitter end.

I recon it could take 2 years for the body to sort itself out and learn to work without nicotine no science there just a guess and a guess for me when are all different.

hang in there it gets better they tell me so I am staying smoke free to see if they are telling the truth :)

well done manchild on your 125 days smoke free, we are all so different, when I was smoking waking up was not a problem, a sleep in was 6am. Now not sure where i am, I had so much trouble going to sleep when I first stopped smoking, now at 112 days smoke free most nights i sleep well but waking up most of the time seems a bit harder, about a week ago I didn't wake till 9am. Like IC its too cold and wet for me to get motivated to walk but I know I need to get going soon

Hi. Yes strange changes took place for me. However, I was always a good sleeper but giving up has made sleeping difficult. Vivid dreams at first but they have subsided

The benefits of quitting far outweigh the negatives though and I carry benefit list on my iPhone

Congratulations for your 125 days. Dobbin

How refreshing is it to face life's challenges and disappointments without our former "prop"... Besides, the day we have no problems is the day we are dead. We are now in a better position to take on what life dishes out and to deal with life's challenges without hiding behind our former "friend", Nicotine... Power to us!
