Really want to stop

Hey Aalva, you can do this you just need have a positive, determined mindset. Try ready Allen Carr's Easy way to stop smoking. He suggests you keep smoking while you read it. Your mindset will alter as you read it, he talks about the fear you will be feeling. It will cost you the price of a book and other than that you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Let me know how you get on.

Also, you've found this site which means you're seriously thinking about stopping. You can do this and you will when the time is right for you. Have a good read through all the posts on here, they will give you the boost to stop. Take good care and be kind to yourself
I'm on my own to Aalva with a nine year old grandson living with me with Special needs 😊 We can do this 👌 You can do this 👏🏻 I'm off them One Month on Wednesday 😉

I live by myself I am not alone though and that was just another excuse I invented to let myself off the hook.
I cant stop I am alone its my friend, yeah right nice friend stole my money and was killing , does that sound like a friend??
so there are no excuses if we want to stop we will, if we wont we wont.
I didn't want to stop I did everything I could to stay smoking but it caught up and I had a choice smoke and die a slow death, or quit and have a chance and some money to buy things I like.
no brainer really but nicotine is a tricky fella so I asked myself one question every morning , give me one logical reason to such poison in to my lungs and I will have a smoke and the voice in my head cant answer that question full stop because there is no good reason to suck poison in to my lungs, not one good reason.
good luck and keep it simple don't pick up the 1st smoke and the craving cant be set off.

I am confused at the moment Aalva and am getting so frustrated with my lack of quitting permanently. Don't know how many times you have tried to quit but I have been struggling for some time now, years really. My dream is to quit but my reality is harsher not to mention harder putting the quit button into action again. I am also alone for most of the day and night and find solace with my friends the darsdidly cigarettes. Perhaps we are at the same stage and I am hoping I can help you to keep persevering as I have faith that we can all eventually kick the habit but go about it with somewhat more ease than others or slowly pull the bandaid off kinda way.

Same my problem is the ease of just going & buying them Everytime I say no more. I'm also tired of the guilt of buying them.

Yes, you can do it (I have several times, ha ha). Have also spent alot of time alone - thinking that if nobody knows that I smoke, then it's ok (co-workers , family). Dig deep and do it
for your own pride and self esteem 😊

Appreciate candor I also have tried. Many times but want to make this dtick

Hi Aalva
I am 94 days today without any form of nicotine from being a heavy smoker since the age of 14. Being alone without cigarettes is one of the hardest things for me. I'm not just a social smoker but a nicotine addict. If I can do it, then so can you so good luck

Good to hear a lot of encouraging stuff on this site and its good that you can share you feelings here. I have also tried a couple of times but it always comes back to me. This time i am quite determined to get rid of it completely. Yesterday was my first day and its been more than 24 hours that i haven't smoked. I have been smoking for the past 16 years and now its time to say good bye to them

I am dealing with the craving by having nicotine gums. I am fasting so its the best time for me to quit because half of the day i don't have to think about smoking and i only have to work hard for the night. It really gets hard at night so the best thing is to sleep early
