Hi Alleycat. Today is day 320 for me. The further we get from day 1 the more important it is to never forget day 1 & what a huge day that was. Do we ever want to be confronted by day 1? No way. As the days become months & years we must never have a relapse. Every day is a challenge. So is life. Inhale & exhale and daily stresses are dealt with but never with the excuse that nicotine can provide a solution. Amongst the many pathetic excuses we have made to ourselves in the past nicotine has never actually provided a solution to a problem. Just delayed the inevitable... Reversing the quitting process is always going to be a fine line nor can we reward ourselves with a single nicotine fix...

Congrats Alleycat and Lia, you both inspire me. i'm on day 14 and looking forward for day 140, 1400. Thanks for sharing.

Well done! Day 27 for me, I look up to you guys and it helps knowing that I'm not alone.. I'm never going back there ever!

Hope you come for the ride with the stayers. Not easy, but worth the accolades from fellow quitters.

83 days seems like a long way ahead of day 1. In what ways has your quality of life improved?

Good question weewillem!! At this stage I would have to say my health has improved.....to a point. My lungs are almost perfect as I had to do some sort of breathing test before I had the anaesthetic for my surgery. Psychologically I have proven to myself that I can and have given up the smokes and yes there were times when I wanted one but did not give in. I like the extra money I have in my purse each fortnight, which I should be saving for a holiday but have been buying things for myself or the house that I would normally not be able to afford (I'm on a pension).
I wish I could say more about my quality of life but to be honest I can't. I'm still recovering from my hand surgery and still in a splint and it looks like I may have to have the other hand operated on too. I have Fibromyalgia (google it) and osteoarthritis so I'm in chronic pain 24/7 and also my left shoulder may need to have surgery on it. I'm off to see the specialist tomorrow so I'll see what he has to say.
Maybe you asked the wrong person about quality of life and sorry for the long winded whinge!! But I'm happy to be smoke free!!
