Does exercise help the champex kick in

Hi all,
I'm on day 8 on champex and getting the weird dreams, headaches as well but committed to quit smoking in two days. Does exercise help the champex side effects or make it worse?

I am glad to hear that you actually managed to take Champix for 8 days. I did it for 5 weeks but the medicine was making me feel too sad and I have decided to stop. After that I started smoking again. Now I am using patches, 2 days without cigarettes and I am happy with my decision. Don't give up and keep taking your medication til you complete the program, you can beat the cigarette, talk with your doctor to see what you can do to avoid the weird dreams.

Welcome Par155, I'm on week 5 of Champix, I don't have the dreams, but I don't sleep well, I had headaches before I started anyway but mine have started to ease, exercise can't make it worse, but so far I can't seem to find the energy to exercise. Good luck with your attempt, personally I find this forum extremely good to help me stay on track, both through posting and reading what others post

hang in there hey we all know this is not an easy thing to do or we would have done it long ago, no shame in dong it tough, most cant do it at all , so take heart you are one of those with the courage to quit and even more courage to come on here and say its not easy.
to me all those things say you will make it.
hang in and do what ever it takes with your Dr's help and on here and other online info !!

Yesterday was my last day of the full 3 month course of champix. Some side affects will settle, some stayed w me. Always take with food and I found if I had a snack, full glass of water and second dose by about 3.30 or no later than 4 - 4.30, I slept ok. Still did take awhile to fall asleep though. Headaches were much less after a few weeks and having at 1.5 - 2Ltrs of water, no headaches after about a month. Constipation all the way through, took magnesium every night to help w the muscle twitches and also helped w "regularity'. Very vivid dreams but the only time I had bad ones were when I couldnt take it early enough. Try to stick with them because it makes a huge difference with the cravings. Day 5 I started feeling yuk when I lit up and had stopped totally by day 7 or 8, find it hard to remember….seems a lifetime ago. I often felt I should be doing something, like in an ad break, then I remembered oh yeh this is when I'd go out to have a cigarette but with champix it was just that…a thought. Your moods will probably be more heightened but I think this would be the case with anyone giving up an addiction.

After two months of taking Champix i had to throw in the towel, off it a week now but still have some of the side effects. I suffered with mild depression anyhow before taking it but this medication heightened it. Suicidal thoughts and wanting to sit in a chair and do nothing. My work has suffered for it unable to concentrate, But i am sure this will pass, still not smoked since 29.02,16 - forty years of smoking is going to take a good while to feel as though i am a non-smoker but today is how i feel.

Hi,
I am on day 11 of Champix, I consider myself lucky as I really didn't get any side effects. First two nights had the dreams, but they went away. I am starting to think I only had them because I convinced myself I would. I'm still smoking, but far less and it is now making me feel ill. I think I am only doing it now because of the habit, so trying to improve my will power.
Good luck to you and I would love to hear more stories of how you're going with Champix so I can compare.
As for the exercise, it's probably a great took to break habit. Like instead of lighting up you go for a run (or whatever you prefer) then you're improving your health all round!
