How many of us would like a $100 - $200+ pay rise a week. Well, if you stop buying cigarettes then that is in effect what you have done. How often do we whinge about the meagre pay rise we get from our employers? It may take years to get that amount from the employer but how easy is it to reward ourselves... By the way, $100 - $200 goes a very long way. as you already know.. Anyone need a stray $5000 to $10000pa ??? then you know one of the many reasons to STOP...

A good reminder of one of the great benefits of stopping that stinky, expensive habit. I never thought about it as being a $9,000 pa pay rise - but actually, it is more like $16,000 because we were buying cigarettes after tax.

Dear Lia, I had no money for healthy foods. Now we have organic vegetables delivered. We are walking our dog. We have lost weight. My husband has cut down to one cigarette a week.

It piles up quickly, and you save by not buying stuff like gum and snacks when you are in the shop daily... I pop down to my local guy once a week now for my Set for Life lotto ticket and he always asks me if I don't want smokes, as he was my emergency smoke shop and very expensive..so from spending $250-$300 plus a week on smokes and junk, I now have saved that for the past 3 weeks.. imagine the first years savings - $15,600.00 a good second hand car, or a holiday oversees for a few weeks..

yes I know what your saying. Would smoke between 3 and 4 packs on a good weekend if there was alcohol involved no problem at all....
