Working hard to stay quit

Well I'm entering into week 3 tomorrow of no ciggies, smoked for 21years straight with not one attempt to give up. I always said ill give up when milestones in my life came up i.e after I get married, after my 30th birthday, after my first child, when we buy a house, after my 2nd child, after this and after that - yeah yeah I was all talk and no action. I was on the next mindset of false pretendces of giving away the ciggies when I tuned 40 but something just cameover me one day beforehand "I can't wait till 40 I think my body is saying now" So that was it- had my very last coffee and ciggie combo on a Monday morning at work and gave my ciggies away. Has it been easy- "Hell No" Ive been working very hard to leave my old mates alone. The gum has helped me heaps even though I have ulcers all inside my lip and tounge from missing the chewy and chomping down - owwww but worth the pain. I have been completing little goals by facing the times when my old mates would be around one by one,  drinking by far is the hardest. The benefit health wise is unbelievable, I can't believe that I haven't been feeling like a normal human being for 21 years. I can breath, smell, taste and I don't feel trapped anymore. I know I have along way to go but my old mates are gone

It was a domino affect with me. First I had to disasociate the coffee and other drinks from a smoke. Then when I was knitting and needed a coffee break, I could do that smoke-free. Otherwise, I knitted a row and had a smoke break. Now I knit many rows at a time. My concentration is improving. Well done on three weeks. I just lit up after three days. I couldn't smoke it. I had to put it out.
