Going the distance

schedule 11 Nov 2014

I am 8 days in to no smoking which is not a massive milestone but relative to my past attempts this is a winner.  I have barely had a craving - have had a few glasses of red wine and kept up my commitment to staying smoke free.  Of course - it does help to be seeking out my non smoking buddies more so than socialising with my smoking friends but it is still a win.

I changed my focus form ciggies and wine to running again and I am loving it - I have logged 3 x 4 klms, 1 x 11klms and a 5klm and I am following a training program to keep me focused.  I am feeling like I can do it and the feeling of no guilt is amazing - smoking causes me far more anxiety than not doing it that is for sure - I am usually plagued with guilt and hating myself!

Not out of the woods but running out of there slowly.....planning and pre-empting my spare time helps to change my old behaviour....can't wait for 8 weeks - then I can celebrate a small win...fingers crossed!

Congrats. Thatcher. You are definitely a winner. Next 2 weeks , then a month, keep at it.

Thanks for the comment - I had a little slip up or two so resolve a bit weak and need to get back to focussing and planning so it doesn't happen again. :)
