Turkey

Hi everyone- this is my millionth time quitting and I'm day 16- yay! I had quit for 4 years when I thought one night I could just have one- which of course turned into a packet a day very quickly! Since then I've been pressured to quit by family & friends but I knew I had to do it when I wanted to. So after a big night where I smoked 2 packets (lovely), I didn't have any left the next day. I just thought if I can get through today and tomorrow without buying another packet, I'd be right. And I did! So I just went cold turkey and tried to have a glass of water every time I really felt like one.
It's such a mental battle. But I just kept telling myself that quitting wasn't really that hard, and I wasn't missing out on anything. Crazy as it sounds, I haven't really missed it. After thinking it was my best and most loyal friend for all these years- and it really wasn't. Feel so much better in myself.
So never stop trying to quit- one day will be the right time for you!

Thats fantastic..well done to you and ct!, i like your thinking,"it's really not that hard!", thats a great positive affirmation. I will keep that in mind. Sometimes i think we build up so much fear about quitting that by changing your mindset you will believe it's easier. Congrads on your quit & lots of luck for the future,
