Day 4 patches and lozenges

Woo hoo :) day 4 without a single smoke.
Been a heavy smoker (30 to 35 a day) since I was 12 years old. Ie 30 years smoking.
The last 11 years I've been smoking white ox (very strong tobacco).
I quit on the 29th Jan 3:30pm with help of patches and lozenges. First full day without smoking was the 30th Jan. It's been 4 full days without a single puff.
Here is how I'm going with the NRT. (I'm wearing 24 hour patches but taking off when going to bed. I put on as soon as I wake) I know the 4Mg lozenges are not recommended in conjunction with patches, I'm now down to 1.5Mg and had 2 this afternoon a few hours apart.
My currents goals are to stay smoke free and ween off the lozenges to just using 21Mg patch only.
Feeling good today, teeth already whiter. Feeling healthier. Cravings very easy to handle most of the time except afternoon where I have a lozenger. No anger trantrums thank god.
Oh yea and I carry with me a list of all the reasons I am quiting and read it many times per day.
Day 1 - 21 Mg Nicobate patch and 4 X 4Mg lozenges.
Day 2 - 21 Mg Nicobate patch and 2 X 4Mg lozenges.
Day 3 - 21 Mg Nicobate patch and 2 X 4Mg lozenges.
Day 4 - 21 Mg Nicobate patch and 3 X 1.5Mg lozenges.
Hoping now to keep the lozenges to 1.5Mg and maximum of 3 until I can handle with patches only.
Congrats to all who have made decision to quit. Not smoking is freedom and so much better the prison of addiction, foul smell and poor health.
Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff, well done mate, it will be tough at times but I think your last para quite simply says it all, I was 25 a day for 39 yrs. Am on smoke free day 37. Also gone cold turkey on alchohol (day 5).
Stay strong pal.

Go go go...Keep up the good work!!! It isnt going to be easy (I smoked for 43 years)but every day gets a little better. Stay strong, but dont kill yourself if you slip. Just jump back on the track and keep going!

Good on you Jeff!!! Be proud, be honest, be yourself. Everyone in your family will win mate.
However you need to do it is fine. "G" didn't provide us with a smoke when we were born, we did it to ourselves and we need to stop it ourselves. We have our support teams, but the game is ours and our's alone.
At my worst, I was going through 4 pouches of "makin's" a week + pipe bakka as well as a pack or 2 if I was too drunk to roll.... GEEZ!!! Off the grog as well now, allow myself once a year to fall off the wagon, have a (single tinny) beer every week with a mate.
The thing is Jeff, y'ain't Robinson Crusoe....
There are people on this site ready and willing to help you out if needed, you're doing great mate.
One day at a time, no unreasonable expectations. For some like me, it is a long term project, after 6 months, nico is still in my head, weird, some people are fine after a few months, but nico is..... well, I don't think I'm ready to confront my kids to quit, that's my goal, to have them, and their families nico free.
Good luck, stay strong, stay focused, stay flexible.
