HI all.

18 months ago I had most of my sigmoid colon removed which made it necessary to retrain my bowel and to recognise much subtler hints that it was loo time.  Went through post-op chemo with the major problem being having to run to the loo frequesntly 24/7.  I am now on day four of Champix and am back in the same situation.  Could not go to work Friday, Saturday at home and tomorrow, Australia Day, will see me staying close to the loo.  Hope this improves or I may have to talk to my doctor about whether champix is for me - because this is not champoo:)

Hi BC,

The Champix can be a hard road, it does not suit everybody it can make you really nauseous. I took it for a month and it was awful never again. I continued without it and I am grand now.

Hi BC :-)

I've tried champix and I had every side effect listed on the info sheet... not for me... don't hesitate if it doesn't work for you, try something else.... the discomfort and feeling horrible is not worth it. You can use other quit smoking methods and not feel so horrible.... Patches and changing my routine is the only thing that works for me.... and not to mention will power which I do lack.... i'm only on my 3rd day of quitting.... again... after my hobbible experience with champix I started smoking again.... Good Luck :-)

I would leave the Champix they are horrible, I took them for a month and they are hard yolks to take.

Solo

Good luck with the chemo. I can't pretend it will be fun but there is an end to it. In the last day or two my bowel problems seem to have settled and irritability is dropping off. May be able to stick with Champix - would hate to miss the dreams. Stop day is 4th Feb and I notice a reduction in my smoking already. Work tomorrow and will leave the smokes at home and see how the urges go.

Good luck Solo.

Good luck Solo and BC and everyone else that have embarked on this journey. Hope everything goes well, with or without champix.
