Bye Bye Champix
Hi everyone. I haven't checked in for a while now and today is my 68th day smoke free. About a week ago I decided to end my relationship with Champix after 9 weeks of taking it morning and night. No more sleepless nights, no more sickly feelings and no more tiredness. Champix you did your job well blocking those nicotine receptors day in and day out for nine weeks. Thankyou for making the process of giving up a lot easier than going cold turkey. Well I am feeling pretty confident I will never return to the bad old days of nicotine addiction. The whole idea of ever putting one in my mouth again makes me feel ill. The reasons I gave them away are burned in to my memory. I can now call myself a non smoker!

Congrats to you both! I, as well, used Champix. I am on week 4 and had my last cig a week ago. I have a question for you. When you stopped the Champix did the cravings get worse? Thanks.
Hi Bea. I took the champix for 9 weeks all up. i was initially worried about stopping taking them before the 12 weeks, thinking that maybe I'm going to start craving a cigarette. Well I can tell you this didn't happen. I suppose after 9 weeks I had broken the association of things i used to do that would trigger a cigarette. This doesn't mean I changed everything I do. I t just means certain situations, like coffee, alcohol and stress no longer trigger a craving. i think the secret is in time and teaching your brain to do something else. Give yourself as much time as you need until you feel comfortable and strong enough to go alone. For me the 9 weeks went really quickly and the cravings are gone. Having said that I will always be on my guard and always remind myself of the reasons I gave up. Good luck to you and keep visiting the site. I t really helped me and I think I'll keep popping in from time to time to see how everyone is going. Cheers
