17 Days!!

I have been smoke free for 17 days now! My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in August and this made me want to quit. She has been smokefree for over 3 months now and going through with chemo. I see what she is going through and i do not want to go through the pain, stress of having an illness down the road. i already see the effects that smoking is doing to my teeth and over all appearance.
I have been very crabby, especially at work. I think they hired a lot of annoyng people recently justto test me lol The smell of my co workers after coming back from break is disgusting and i hope i didnt smell like that. which i probably did! i love how i can smell my shampoo perfume and lotion hours after putting it on. my mouth feels so much cleaner. I have gained weight but i could gain some anyway ;) I really wanted togo to the gas station today and buy a pack but why? they are going to taste nasty anyway and it is freezing outside!

Hi Jada7799,
Good girl on 17 days, I am sure you mum is proud of you. It's not an easy thing to do, but you are going strong. Just remember that there is no such thing as one more, if you have experienced the thoughts of 'ah sure have one more, just a pull, you can still quit but just have the one'. It can get quiet intense experience. Don't give in beat it once , and you will have cracked it. Well done.

Thanks ;) I have tried multiple times to quit in the last three months and this time I am determined! It has always been around the 21 day mark where I started smoking again.

I have been so tired lately and slept the whole weekend away! I can see my skin is getting a lot better though and my teeth are getting whiter :)

Congrats on making 17 days, a great achievement. I too have tried to quit many times and am currently on day 26. It does get a little easier each day. I believe that as long as you have a strong positive mindset you will do it. The mind is a powerful thing and you need to use your strength every day. We can manage with the crabby days because as you say the good things of being a non-smoker like the great smells, a fresh clean mouth etc far out weigh the hard times. Keep it up and keep posting!

I am feeling a lot more happier ;) especially at work. I have just been having a bit of insomnia now. I have no desire to smoke...the thought of it creeps up from time to time though. I have just been working extra hard at work to keep my mind off it. Plus, I have a sore throat! Thanks for all the support ;)

Congratulations on making it almost a month now! Time goes really fast, at least it has for me.
