The glue that made me stick.

Hello everybody ,
Hope everyone is doing well quitting. I am happy to report that I am still smoke free. For everyone out there who are on this quit journey well done, and for those who are thinking about quitting do join us. It has been tough at times but so worth it. My skin has improved so much, teeth , my hair too. I don't feel or look like I am withering away like I used too. I feel stronger physically and mentally. I think for me the worst weeks are over they were dark at times..... I will never forget them (3,4,5,6) I don't know who that person was, I was a rollarcoaster of emotions, anger, paranoia, self pity, withdrawal from others, defensive. It was all a way to protect myself from falling back into the old thinking.... that goes something like this ...' one smoke will help, you can always start again tomorrow'. It was me being aware and controlling my automatic need to smoke. I still have my guard up, this is my first time to quit, so I am taken each day , one at a time.
This site has been the glue that made me stick to being smoke free, I learned so much from everyone's experiences. So many stories all different but we all have one thing in common we all want to stay smoke free.
My name is Carmel, I am a ex-smoker , who has been free from cigerettes 17 weeks. (118 days) nearly 4 months!!!!

Hi Carmel, That is wonderful, their is deffinately hope for me as you sound very similar to how I am feeling in regards to week 3,4 as I am on day 31 now. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You have given me so much more hope. Keep enjoying being smoke free as I am starting too :)
