Hi all,

This is it!!

Well I have been a non smoker for 5 days now and I am feeling pretty confident this time.

I have tried to give up about 10 times seriously and 100 times half hearted.  I know this time is it as I am now incorporating exercise.  Something I have never done before!! I actually think I will lose weight instead of putting it on. 

My mindset is a lot different. Instead of reaching for food when I have a bad craving I inhale a few times and give my self head spins, it actually calms me lol.

I still have terrible cravings off and on but that is my mind playing tricks on me!!

This is the first time on this site and it is great reading everybody's stories.

hi there stay strong and true to yourself, dont listen to the self doubters like you i am feeling great and its only day 25 for me keep up the good work its all worth it in the end.

Thank you Sconie, this is so emotionally draining more than anything I can think of. Thanks for your words. You keep up the good work too! :) Well done to get to day 25 how are you staying sane? I find the longer I stop the sadder I get lol is that normal

hi sharon dont think about what your are giving up just concentrate on what you are gaining by not smoking more money, feeling healthier, no more smelly clothes. I try and keep busy as much as i can go for a walk,go out for coffee,cleaning is a good one for me.After watching my mum pass away with lung cancer 2 years ago that was enough for me go be motivated i didnt want my girls seeing that again. Good luck and keep posting your progress.

Hi, sorry to hear about your mum, I had a lot of trouble with my mothers death but am coping better now. Our mums would be proud of us quitting. Look forward to quitting with you as it's five days for me too, stay strong.

Hi Sconie & Humble, I'm sorry about your mums' passing It can make it all that harder to stay strong, my mum passed when I was 16 too, so as you can imagine a lot of issues are bubbling to the surface since I have given up. That is what I find the hardest about giving up, keeping your mental state happy!! It struck a cord Humble when you wrote our mums would be proud, that was nice to hear.

Well guys day 6 and going strong. I love talking to people on this site it makes me feel so much better, so thank you. :)
