Its not Chimpax its willpower.

Hello Everyone,
i started my Journey of becoming Smoke free 2 weeks ago,so i went to doctor to get chimpax.
i am on day 14 today on chimpax and day 10 without a single cigy, however taking chimpax sometimes can be really tough as i sometimes feel vomiting, headache, depression.
to cope with this side effects, try to be happy and stay connected with your friend.always have a big meal before you take chimpax tablets, therefore your body will be in high energy mode.and drink plenty of water.
All the best everyone.

well you have only been smoking for a short time and you only smoke 3 packets a week which is not really heavy it should be easy for you to quit, i was a pkt. a day smoker for quiet a bit longer than you, if i can quit so can you all it takes is positive mental attitude i quit cold turkey, but there a whole lot of ways to quit well all the best and good luck.

hi Kman I 'd say you will be fine ..... just take one day at a time. I was a dedicated heavy smoker , 20 years smoking a pack and a half a day . I am 3 months smoke free. I did champix for a month that is all I could manage I couldn't stick the nausea, did the rest cold turkey. No looking back...it is the freedom of not having your world revolve around smoking. there are a few methods to help you quit , so it is up to you which one you choose. Champix is not for everyone but I had a heavy addiction so I knew I needed them to quit. NRT can be good too and helps wean you off.
Stick with it, keep posting here , this is a support to you along the way. good luck to you and well done.

Hi Knan I was two packets a day for the last 22 years and I did it to.
Make sure you have the right attitude and you can do it as well

Hi Kman, at least you have tried to give up a few times so you know what you are in for. I am on day 11 now and was smoking for about 20 years. I had tried a few times also. Each time does get easier I think. Your the first person I have ever seen write that they want to give some money to charity. That is so nice of you. Which makes me think you really do deserve to treat yourself nicer and stop hurting yourself with cigarettes. This is the second time for me going cold turkey, this seems to work the best for me. If I have a bad craving I breathe quite a few times, head spins are great, they actually calm me. It is more an emotional battle for me now. So when I do get cravings which are fewer they seem to be stronger, yes all in the mind. Well good luck to you, you CAN do it :)

I was a pack a day for 25 years so good on you for starting sooner rather than later - and doing unseen damage. Good luck!

Hi kman, I was a pack a day smoker for 28 years. I have tried to quit so many times and could never do it. This is my second attempt on this site, there is so much support here that it really encourages you to give up as we all know how hard it is to quit no matter which method of quitting you use. So please stay on here everyone will help you.
You can do it Kman and we will be right beside you. As it has all been said above I say read and re-read all posts from others to keep you inspired.
