I was standing in line at the checkout & had to hold my breath, I just wanted to be sick. The person in front of me & behind me were smokers (I know them both) & the smell was ....well - off!! 'My God' I thought, 'did I smell like that?' I felt so embarrassed that I would've had that same smell about me only just a week ago.
yes it is gross - i felt sick at the thought of my son smelling me like that - and he used to say 'mum you stink' and id happily say as i grabbed him and kissed him 'mum just had a smoke' as if it was all a joke.

I had the same thoughts when I gave up smoking. Don't get embaressed at least we gave it up and thats great achievement.
It is amazing that we could never smell ourselves but only when we have given up does the smell attack our nostrils. I can even smell a smoke from a car driving past.
