Day 52 and going strong!

Hi all, well here I am on day 52 with no cigarettes! I could never imagine being able to say that but every day I feel stronger for staying focussed. Still taking Champix but sometimes miss a tablet - if I've had a late dinner I don't worry and I had a tummy virus on the weekend and didn't take any at all on Saturday. I didn't feel any difference and certainly didn't get any more cravings than I normally do - still getting a few daily but they are easy to manage (ignore them and find something to do!). Really starting to notice the difference in my skin - I have a much healthier complexion and even have pink cheeks (on my face haha). My mum asked me how I feel about cigarettes now - the best I can come up with is that its like an old boyfriend that I always knew was bad for me, yet I still yearn for them now and then! One thing I wanted to ask - after 52 days I was expecting to start coughing up some horrible things but as yet nothing.... any feedback would be very helpful! Thanks :)

Hiya Charleegirl, great work - 52 days is huge. I'm only 19 days in and I had heard that after 2 weeks or so you may start coughing stuff up. It hasn't happened to me and other people on here have said it may not happen at all. So that's a good thing. I sometimes miss a champix and can't say I notice the difference either. Good luck - you are doing great

Well done charleegirl, your doing brilliant, 52 days way to go. Enjoy all the wonderful bonus's from not smoking. great skin, clean teeth etc its all good. Its like nature rewarding us by letting us appreciate the basic's of our new smokefree environment.. Great work and keep posting xx

Hi Charleegirl, good stuff on 52 days well done. An old boyfriend is a very good description of them, I feel the same. I just behind you 6 weeks now, and I was expecting to cough up stuff too, nothing yet. I was on Champix for a month and went off them and continued on without them. I still did not cough up anything yet. I asked my doctor why I did not cough up crap.... he said everyone is different, when I get a cold again I may get a bad chest infection , it may go that way with me. So I would not be worrying is does not have to happen. Well done keep posting.

Hi Charleegirl well done! I am 25 days and also waiting for the crap to come up from my lungs. Even thought of physio, back bash to loosen it as I am scared of lung infection. All that tar bothers me now, funny it did not bother me when I smoked so I guess we are still better off.
