Done with Champix
On my 18th day on Champix and smoke free now for 8 days. A mild craving just once yesterday and none today and i think it was brought about mainly by habit. It has been a hellish ride being on these pills and i hate it! Every side effect listed on the pamphlet - I have it! Well most of them, except for the ones that requires an ambulance. Although, having said that, my morning pill for the last 2 days has causing me really painful tummy pains, starting from my chest, feeling really hot, sweaty, dizzy - just felt like curling up and cry. Only lasting about 2 -3 mins but it is enough to scare the beejezus out of me as to what these pills are really doing and capable of doing. I have deliberately missed my night pill but i am having second thoughts about totally stopping without finishing the course. I plan on trying to halve the dose to .5mg tomorrow morning. If this doesnt help, then I've had enough and goodybye to Champix. Just rely on willpower.
i disagree Eric. .5mg should still make a difference as it did for the first 3-4 days of the starter pack. also, i don't really know if i am truly smoke-free if it's the pill that is making me not want it. i need to be strong without the help of a pill that is making me so very ill. i am also sure that the doctor will either cut my dosage because of my symptoms or tell me to get off it. I think i will save myself the $60 consultation fee. thanks for your comment though.
