QuitZits the next phase

Posted in Hints and tips
schedule 11 Mar 2013

Hey Guys - I read a while ago bout this phenomenon called quitzits when you are quitting smoking, because all the crap is coming out of your body. I didn't take too much notice at the time because I only had few bumps at that stage, but jeez it is getting worse by the day. I am on day 31 smoke-free and I have these throbbing blind pimples coming up on my face. Does anybody know more or less how long it lasts? Whatever the norm mine will be worse because I smoked 40 a day for 35 years. Can you imagine how long it will take my body to get rid of all the crap? I just thought that the worst was over in the first 3 weeks they said it would take to work the nicotine out. Down in the dumps.

Yes! Me too!! I thought to myself the other day, Im too old to be getting pimples like this Im 43 and on day 44 smoke free, didnt even think of it until now..thats why!

Up goes my hand - me too for quitzits :-( I'm 28 days smoke free today and have two groups of blindies festering on my chin. I s'pose all that yuck has to get out somehow and it does make me feel a bit better not being the only one with this unsightly side-effect. I will treat myself to a facial with some of my ciggie savings :-) Thanks for the idea rainbow.

WOW Sunnygirl - yeah mine started on like day 26 and it's horrid. I have also heard that you should treat yourself to a few facials because your skin changes a lot during the quit process. It's all very well for the people to say that it is the crap coming out of your body, but they are sore and they are ugly, and I have heard that it can take up to 18 months. Somebody above said 1 year which is better but still yukkie. And they bleed profusely if you fiddle with them.
