Hi Guys,

Im 36 and started smoking when i was 15. My first quit attempt was when I was 21 and I did it cold turkey and lasted 6 months. I believe that once you stop smoking after being a smoker if you go back to smoking you will always be thinking about giving up again because you see how bad it really is for you because you feel so much better not smoking. I had struggled to give up smoking ever since and was honestly getting to the point where I was thinking that I will just have to accept that I am a smoker and will probably die slowly and painfully from some smoking related desease. I had tried everything. Patches, Lozenges, Gum,I even went on champix for 5 months. Each time whilst trying these methods i had success but it was short lived and I always struggled. I was always finding myself wanting a ciggarette and struggling not to have one. Even with the NRT I still craved a smoke not all the time but when those cravings came even when on patches it was a struggle. I was a heavy smoker I smoked about 30 smokes a day on a good day more obviously when I was drinking. In the morning if I started work at 9 and was up at say 7 I would smoke about 10 smokes with my cups of tea befor I would leave for work. I would always have an empty pack of ciggarettes on my coffee table so I could spit the stuff that I was coughing up into it otherwise I would have had to get up every 10 minutes or so and spit in the sink or toilet I never swollowed the horrible phlem I used to cough up and it was really full on in the morning. Sometimes I would nearly throw up from coughing so bad. I would go into the toilet at work befor I walked into the office to have one last attempt to clear the phlem and avoid the embarrassment of coughing up. Now please dont get me wrong here I was and always have been a very healthy person I eat good food and do my best with exercise it was just the smoking that was bringing me undone. I was honestly at what I thought was the end with the trying to give up after all I had tried everything. I know they say you only fail when you stop trying but it was just so hard even with NRT that I thought there was no hope.

One day I bumped into a guy that I knew who worked in the local video shop and we started chatting and he mentioned that he had given up and had not had a smoke in 4 months and was feeling great. I was genuinly so happy for him and asked him how he did it. He told me he had read the Allan Carr book called "The easy way to quit smoking" I had heard about this book years earlier and thought nothing of it I am not a reader anyway nor would I think that a book would be able to help you quit smoking. After talking to this guy and trying to find out how it works I thought I would give it a go. I was honestly at my end with this quit smoking journey and thought to myself I have nothing to lose so I went out and bought the book and made a commitment to myself to read 10 pages per day. That was it I was going to read this book and i did and guess what  I DID IT. I honestly do not know how it works I dont know what it is but this book has changed my life forever I have not had a smoke for over 2 years and I can honestly say that from day one the very first day I have found it to be easy. The reason I wanted to write this story was because if I can help 1 person with this story then I have helped to save 1 life. Im telling you that this book works if it worked for me it can work for you better than patches gum lozengers its cold turkey no cravings and its honestly easy its not hard to stop smoking trust me I struggled like you would not believe but I found it easy with this book. The book encourages you to keep smoking while you are reading it so dont worry about that just try it dont have any expectations commit to reading a few pages each day and see how you go. It worked for me and I honestly believe it can work for you too.  Good Luck friends we are not meant to smoke. We are not meant to die from emphasima its a horrile slow painful death and no one deserves that.

I second all the above! Alllen Carr gave me the mental technique to quit cold turkey after a pack a day for forty years. And Joel Spitzer's website WhyQuit.com helps me stave off cravings and the WRONG thought that "a puff won't hurt me." The first 2 weeks were HARD but they did not kill me. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!
