331 DAYS SMOKE FREE

Hi everyone. It's now been 331day's since i have had a smoke. I still miss it and always will. However i
can breathe so much easier and i can go places and not have to worry if there will be somewhere to smoke. I can smell a smoker miles away.. If you are struggling take it day by day. It does get easier and the thoughts get longer in between. I never thought i could do this but i have yeah.
I am so proud of myself.

Kathyrose how do you deal mentally with missing them but not relapsing? I am on cold turkey day 20 after a packet a day for 40 years, but I miss the first one in the morning and the ones after lunch and dinner - especially if I have a few glasses of red.

It's just will power . I smoked 25 a day for 30 years and never thought i could give up. What keeps me going is that i never want to go through the withdrawals again EVER. I still walk past people and breathe in their smoke but it doesn't make me want one, I am now a non smoker thats it. I still sometimes dream about them but i can't go back to being breathless and wheezy. I have put on weight but thats a small price to pay. You have to say you are a non smoker. You are strong. Enjoy the red as is. I know it's hard i associated a cup of tea with a smoke now it's a biscuit lolol. It'a mental game to try and beat the smokes. You can do it.

Thanks for your reply. I do not want that wheeze back either. I will use the money I am saving by quitting on buying better wine which I will savour all the more with my returning sense of smell. OK so I might miss a smoke occasionally but I will not relapse - not even a puff - and after all missing a smoke every now and then won't kill me.
