150 DAYS $ 2400.00 SAVED

I'm 40 and smoked for 26 years. 150 days ago on the spur of the moment I decided to just quit. The method I used was cold turkey and will power. I smell better. I taste better. I was pretty fit to start with so as yet I haven't put on any weight and still enjoy a cold beer or glass of red. I am crankier than I ever was before. I just don't suffer fools anymore and now speak up rather than retreat with a cigarette. This worried me at first but I realize I am living life head on and honestly, rather than hiding behind a smoke screen. To everyone on this site like nowanonsmoker and mickey thank you for all your positive comments. I am moving overseas in about four weeks time and feel like I can honestly face any challenges smoke free. The thought of a twenty hour flight no longer creates the anxiety it once did.

Congratulations Freakboy! You've been a great support to all us as well and you deserve your new life out from behind the smoke screen. And thanks for pointing out another great benefit of not being addicted ... the flights, and airports you can't smoke in - how stressful it all used to be because of the smokes.I used to smuggle lighters on board in my jacket for fear of not being able to buy one at the airport on the other side. Good luck with your new life OS. I hope you still come back to this site every now and then.
Hey Freakboy. You have been a wonderful support to me and I thank you and MickeyJ from the bottom of my heart. Congratulations on your 150 days. It's a major milestone you should be proud of. I hope your move overseas goes great - moving to somewhere exotic? Wherever you are stay strong, don't go back and don't be a stranger! My very best wishes to you - keep living life head on - because it's too short not to! Linda xx
