Slipped up

I slipped yesterday, day 10 in the afternoon. For the life of me, I have no excuse for doing so. I actually had a good day, kept busy at work and was enjoying myself despite all the damm Sydney rain. I have been too scared to throw away my last packet of tobacco and take it everywhere with me, hence the availability.
I'm wondering if I did this because I was going okay, now I feel horrible. I'm too ashamed to tell my wife and daughters, and last night I over heard my wife tell her sister of how proud she was of me. I'm determined to not beat myself up over this, but the guilt of that cigarettte was far worse than when I had a drink after being sober for 3 three years.
Anyway I just needed to share that, and perhaps, well try harder.
Thanks everyone. Paul.

well ,I do think quitting is hard ,and so its just a shame you have not broken the connection between you and the smoking .Quitting is the best thing you will every do for you and your family ,try carring a photo of them you wife and daughters and before the next time you light up look at why you shouldnt. There is so much more resons to quit than just personel health ,its also that you may want to be around for them in the future as a strong figure a backbone for your family ,someone the can depend on ,and not someone who gives in to temptation at a moments weakness. You can accomplish what you set out to do ,if you really truely want to
Chuck em out Pauly. You don't need them. You made day 10, got confident and because the pack was there you thought you'd have "just one". It wasn't worth it was it. See what the nicotine monsters are making you do? Chuck the packet, and give the nico monsters the bird! Go for it Pauly. You CAN do it!

Pauly,so far you've proven that you're only human after all, but the guilt feelings you are experiencing are evidence that you really want to do this. I'm sure your family are still proud of the fact that you have the resolve to carry on with the non smoking after the little slip up - Remember when you were a kid learning to ride a bike I bet you had a couple of falls - but I bet you were soon throwing wheelies and riding no-hands.
This will be just the same with being a non smoker - you will progress further knowing how hard the journey is going to be.
All the best mate, we all know you can do it just because you can.

hey paul im on day 10 and im finding it bit hard.please dont give up on giving up..its just a little set back dont stop trying...

Pauly mate. It's a stumble that's all. Throw away any temptation. Stay strong.

you slipped up but it wasn't a fail, you have had 1 cigarette in 10 days which is a great effort, forget about the slip up and keep moving forward but throw away that tobacco, I had half a bag of tobacco in my draw and the temptation came up yesterday, I was lucky to turn away from it and threw it in the bin straight after that so it wouldn't happen again.
