Hi,
I am stuggling!!!!! I am 29 years old and have been smoking since I was about 14 :( This would be my third attempt at quitting now. The first time was with Champix and I lasted 6 weeks, second time cold turkey with the help of Allen Carr's book and I was happy for 4 months!!!!! I am on day 2 at the moment and have been doing nothing but thinking about getting another packet!!!! AAAAAGGGHHHH, I think Im on my last legs right now!!!!!!!!!! :( :(

Hi Nicky. If you still have Allan Carr's book pick it up and start reading it again as soon as you start feeling like a cigarette. Even though you have already read it once it is just going to refresh everything in your mind about why you should give up cigarettes and what they are doing to you. YOU CAN DO IT.
Stay strong Nicky, you can do this!!
For the first little while it will be on your ALL the time, but that slowly subsides.. Little by little..
Its gonna be super hard but you have to keep with it, it will all be worth it in the end :-)

Days 1 & 2 are the worst as you should recall from your previous attempts. It only gets easier from here. Also, you will have learned from your previous failed attempts what the triggers were to you starting up again. You'll know that the little voice in your head that tells you just one won't hurt is telling you lies, beacuse that's what the little voice said last time right? You're wiser this time!!

Also, if you're on your last legs right now do yourself one little favour before you give in ...
CALL THE QUIT LINE! It helps and it certainly can't hurt!

Dr feel good are u trying to help?? Haha i don't know any smokers that Really WANT to quit... It's a good thought in all smokers minds to be free but as soon as they are taken from us our minds race straight back to cigarettes and feeling like we're losing the best thing! Nicky it is super hard I know ur pain! I'm pretty sure it was day 2 or 3 that I posted a help story last week! I've also quit from
Champix and then started and read the book which didn't help me quit at all... Ive found most tips on this site helpful... When ever I get my bad cravings I Find it helpful to write down "fight it!" it's weird but it works for me! I share your pain but it does get easier! By day 5 I started finding it easier to fight off cravings. Good luck! Hopefully u havnt given up just yet!
Stop torturing yourself - remember you aren't giving up anything - you're aging your life back. Put the nicotine monster in your mind back in it's box and tell it can't have a smoke coz your a non-smoker. Go on - do it! Good luck Nicky

Hayden, you're right. Dr feelgood's comments sound a lot like the little voice in the head. "Do you really want to quit?" "You don't Reeaally want to quit do you?" Maybe Dr Feelgood is a plant by a tobacco company!!

Honestly dr.feelgood...... we are all here for each other!! Are you gonna hassle her now for slipping!!?? Bite your tongue in future!!
Anyway, Nicky, so you had a little slip up!! Dont stress!!
How many have I had over the years.....MORE THAN BLOODY ONE!!! Im on day 3 & I could injure a small village for a cigarette but Im staying strong & next time you will to!! Set that date baby & get EXCITED about it!!!!
ALL THE VERY VERY BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

Nicky, you'll get there. I couldn't tell you the number of times I've had the s***s because I failed an attempt....but stay strong and give it another go. I know we don't know you personally but we're here to help and we all know how difficult it can be. Have another bash at it Nicky....

Hi Nicky, Congrats on getting to Day 2 in the first place! That's an accomplishment on its own. And then your honesty .... I'm sure relapsing is actually a part of our changing/quitting process. At least you're trying and I wish you all the best for the future. Good luck :)

Thanks everyone!!!!!!! I know my struggles are all leading to ending this battle :) It feels great to have the support of everyone :)
